Long Beach (2026) Original Gouache Painting by Paul Gurney

The Long beach view all the way to to small town. The wonderful orangey sand in the foreground the low tide creating creeping slow small waves. The fresh white of the paper showing waves and sunlight and the solid blue sky. A wonderful hot day at the beach. Painted in Gouache where I managed to create a colourful and interesting depiction of the beach dimensions and depth. This is a sketch with a loose feel in complimentary colours. I really like painting plein-air as it is then possible to create a freshness that is not possible from a photograph.
