This piece represents many different current events that have happened these past few months in the summer of 2015. In the United States, we had a very important and ground breaking law that was passed. Gay marriage was allowed now in every state. This meant that nobody will ever have to live without knowing how it feels like to marry the person they love. To honor this and celebrate this achievement, I wanted to have a painting with rainbow like colors as well as an image that portrays a happy couple. This is rare for me as I like to chose one shade and only work with a few colors around it, and my works are usually aimed towards single figures. This piece also marks me moving away slightly from my harsh and bold shadows to a more gradient like feel. But more importantly this piece is the continuation of my experimentation with only palette knife painting. Since I have made the move the paintings have been coming alive. They seem to have s new sense of being and texture that is just not possible for me with a brush stroke. The painting was done on a background made from old famous quotes.
