This is a classical realist still life (floral) painting in oil. The subject is the lavish, broad arrangement of lilacs placed in a Spode Italian patterned ceramic vase, and complemented by a fine china teacup, and a creamer and sugar bowl. The arrangement is placed on a tea towel. The artist chose a soft mint green background to play up to the greens in the leaves. This is painted on a museum-quality prepared cradled birch wood panel that is 2-inches deep. It does not require a frame, however it can be framed if the owner so choices. Signed on the back. Protected with UVA proof varnish. Color-fastness to 500 years.
