The inspiration behind this piece comes from the contrast between softness and strength. I wanted to create a figure who feels delicate, but not fragile, someone calm, thoughtful, and quietly powerful.
Her gaze is still and intimate, while the movement of her hair and the layered blue background bring a sense of wind, memory, and emotion around her.
I chose light skin tones, amber hair, soft creams, muted browns, pale blues, and deep navy accents to create a balance between warmth and coolness. The light across her face becomes the emotional center of the painting, giving the portrait a luminous, almost cinematic feeling.
