The surface of the painting is built with acrylic paint and expressive texture on linen canvas. Layers of colour move from deep blue-green shadows into luminous turquoise, while the textured central area catches the light differently depending on the angle and time of day. These changes give the painting a living quality that is difficult to fully capture in photographs.
