LavandAnna exists somewhere between a woman, a flower, and an ornament. Lavender replaces the features of her face, while stems descend through her neck like a living anatomy. The patterns of her clothing and surroundings echo one another, blurring the boundary between the figure and the world she inhabits. The painting reflects on how identity is formed: not only by what we reveal, but also by what grows silently within us. Perhaps the self is never separate from its surroundings; perhaps it is an ever-changing pattern woven from memory, nature, and experience.
