I present my painting Landscape with a Chicken as a genre composition and an urban landscape.

Since moving to Munich, this truck with its huge chicken has become an iconic sight for me. It has been part of my surroundings ever since, arriving at the Saturday market every week. It is part of a chain that sells rotisserie chicken.

People are always lining up for their chicken prize. The vendor is always cheerfully dressed. A giant, colorful half-chicken sits on the roof above the entire queue. Well, I painted it.

The work is executed in a cool color palette, creating a contrast with the bright chicken. It is painted in a decorative and light manner.

The painting has a sense of humor. It captures one of the characteristic and cozy aspects of everyday life in Germany.

The painting is varnished. The edges of the canvas are white.
