Laces, which are dowry products found in clothes and homes, are handcrafted knits based on individual memories. Laces, which shed light on their own time both socially and individually, are on the verge of extinction today. The artist, who reveals the noble and aesthetic stance of Turkish women who have been censored for years, brings them to light by making use of traditional clothes and laces and reinterpreting them. She emphasizes the handcraft production of Turkish women with traditional lace knitting and the memories behind it. The artist brings together her own artistic productions and the craft memories in lace by highlighting the handcraft in the pictures, ornaments, motifs and textures she previously applied to walls and ceilings. While emphasizing individual memories by creating the work in layers, she recreates the social memory with the visuals she brings together.
