The colours of the kingfisher have been taken apart and reassembled in a new way — spread across the canvas in sweeping, flowing layers that suggest movement, flight and the fleeting moment of a bird lifting from the water into the air.

A self-made texture paste was applied in fluid, dynamic strokes — rising diagonally across the canvas like a bird taking flight. The relief surface catches the light differently from every angle, creating a living, shifting interplay between colour and texture that changes throughout the day.
