A fish leaves the water. Gravity has a word, and it goes back in.
Two pink splashes are the evidence, for a short period of time. The scratched lines are the fish itself, too fast for the eye to hold, and too pleased with itself to stop for a portrait.
Up for a breath of air, back down with it. Sage water closes over the spot, the pale sky stays put, and one dark form stands exactly where it was, having seen the whole thing.
We do the same: up for air, for an idea, then back down to living on earth with it. The best visits change how you come home.
A short turn in the open air, then home.
