Ladders spring up everywhere, a symbol for me of a precarious unsustainable system that's destroying our planet. The ladders are erected on unsteady foundations of more ladders and more planks, nonetheless human beings fight to climb to the top. It's an illusory achievement, meaningless. Meanwhile there's no place for the natural world in this struggle.
