Irises are one of my favorite flowers to paint. I love how they seem to move together as if caught in a breeze, and I wanted this piece to capture that same rhythm. Working with a palette knife, I layered violet, magenta, and green to balance the intensity of the blooms with the calm of the foliage around them.
