Original artwork description
In this piece, I wanted to give voice—or rather, a silent cry—to the suffering that often goes unseen: the pain of those living through poverty, war, and gender-based violence, especially women.
I portrayed a face emerging from a chaos of color—marked, alive, with deep eyes that refuse to give up. Those eyes exist between good and evil, between hope and despair. The hands, crossed as if in prayer or plea, reveal worn nails—weathered by life, by struggle, by resistance.
Around the neck is an abstract form—perhaps a flower—that wraps like a collar: it’s red like blood, but also like passion, like the potential for rebirth. It is both the wound and the healing.
This is my invocation: do not forget those who live on the margins, who survive each day under the weight of violence and injustice. It’s a work that speaks for itself, but it comes from deep within me—from my humanity, from the way I see the world.
