INNESTO (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by martina palmoni

65 x 81 x 2.5cm (unframed)

£357.9

“Innesto” (which translates to “graft”) is based on the idea of merging heterogeneous elements into a single visual organism. The surface is constructed as a patchwork of canvases, where painted fragments, images, and marks meet and overlap, generating new relationships.

The work combines acrylic, oil, and spray paint, alternating spontaneous gestures with more controlled layering. Graphic patterns, floral elements, and textual traces appear and disappear, creating a dynamic balance between chaos and structure.

The title refers to grafting as a vital process: something that emerges from the encounter of different parts and evolves into a new, hybrid, contemporary form.

This piece is part of an ongoing exploration of materiality, visual memory, and urban language, where the surface becomes a space of dialogue between signs, textures, and color.

Materials used:

Mixed media on canvas (patchwork), acrylic, oil, spray enamel
