I painted this to capture my love for the Italian summer. When I think of those afternoons, I think of the bright colors and the simple joy of a cold bowl of gelato.
I used thick, messy brushstrokes because I wanted you to almost feel the creaminess and the way it starts to melt in the heat. It’s a memory of sun-drenched streets and the sweetest part of the day. It’s a little piece of Italy that I never want to melt away.
