Whenever I looked at this young horse, I couldn't stop smiling. He possesses a unique combination of youth, strength, and utterly calm self-confidence. He's beautiful—and he seems to know it. He doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. He simply looks at you as if to say, "I know I'm good." I wanted to capture precisely this feeling—not the ceremonial beauty of a thoroughbred horse, but its lively character. Therefore, I paid special attention to the expression in the eyes, the light on the warm red coat, and the soft transitions of color, so that behind the outward beauty there remained the sense of a living being. For me, this painting is about youthful strength, dignity, and that happy confidence that has not yet become the seriousness of adulthood.
