During this time I was experimenting with a palette knife creating really expressive chunky movements with my paint. At the time I was using the female figure as my inspiration and had an emotional influence from my partner in this piece. I had a feeling that something was Holding her Back and that she was self sabotaging. This was me wanting to support and help her break free, the best way I knew how at the time.
