Look closely. Something is off — and that's exactly the point.

At first glance, this feels like a Baroque or Flemish Old Master: soft golden light, rich fabrics, a graceful hand held in quiet restraint. The kind of painting you'd expect to find in a grand European museum.

Then you see the tattoo. A vivid rose, alive on the skin. And then — almost hidden between gold embroidery and silk — a Hello Kitty charm.

That tiny, absurd detail changes everything.

*Hello* is a collision between centuries. Slasky takes the visual language of classical painting — the one that gave us Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Vermeer — and places it in direct contact with the icons of our own time: pop culture, body art, mass-market nostalgia. Not as parody. As a genuine question about what we've kept, and what we've lost.

The title isn't a greeting. It's a portal.

This limited edition giclée print on heavyweight museum canvas brings the warmth and detail of the original into your home with exceptional fidelity. Bold, colourful, and conversation-starting — it works beautifully as a statement piece in any contemporary interior.

About the artist

Slasky (b. 1972, Italy) is a self-taught contemporary artist based in Artena, Rome. His work reinterprets the Old Masters — Baroque, Renaissance, Flemish — through the lens of tattoo culture, street art, and urban iconography. In 2019 his work was selected by the jury of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam for *Long Live Rembrandt*, exhibited within the museum's permanent collection spaces. He has exhibited across Europe and Asia, with solo shows in Venice, Limassol, and Munich.
