About the artist

Slasky (b. 1972, Italy) is a self-taught contemporary artist based in Artena, Rome. His work reinterprets the Old Masters — Baroque, Renaissance, Flemish — through the lens of tattoo culture, street art, and urban iconography. In 2019 his work was selected by the jury of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam for Long Live Rembrandt, exhibited within the museum's permanent collection spaces. He has exhibited across Europe and Asia, with solo shows in Venice, Limassol, and Munich.
