Held Between Fields (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Grâce Pégéron

54 x 65 x 2cm (unframed)

£1,083.94

This one started with yellow. Not just any yellow - the kind that hums, that insists. I'd been thinking about thresholds: the moment before a thought becomes a word, before energy becomes action. The canvas became a place to work that out physically, with a brush that moved faster than any plan.

The green marks arrived like interruptions - deliberate, searching, a little awkward in the best way. That's where the real painting happened. The white below isn't emptiness; it's the ground we stand on while the world blazes above us. The texture you see is real friction - layers built up, scraped back, reconsidered.

What makes it special? It's honest. No sleight of hand, no borrowed language. Just paint doing what paint does when you let it carry the weight of something you haven't fully understood yet — and that, somehow, is exactly the point.

About
I was born an artist – never "became" one. Drawing and painting have been with me as long as memory holds: the pull was there before I could name it.... Read more
