Jane's painting is inspired by the pulp detective magazines that were popular from 1930s to the 1950s - she has appropriated a cover from the 1950s showing a scared woman in a convertible sports car and placed the woman in a wheatfield in the American heartlands.
Jane is a well-known Brisbane artist who has been finalist for Lethbridge 10,000, Rotary Art Spectacular, Moreton Bay Art Awards, Noosa Art Award, and Stanthorpe Art Prize. She has also exhibited at various Brisbane and Gold Coast galleries.
