Harvest Light Linocut by Layla Khani (aka Laylart)
14 x 14cm (unframed) / 10 x 10cm (actual image size)
£70
Artwork description
Harvest Light is an original hand-pulled reduction linocut inspired by the cultivated fields and changing light of the countryside around the Malvern Hills.
Golden fields stretch beneath a soft blue sky, with sweeping furrows and layered hills creating a strong sense of movement through the landscape. I wanted to capture that point between late summer and early autumn, when the fields are warm with colour and the light begins to soften.
I created the work using the reduction linocut technique. Each colour is printed from the same lino block, with more of the surface carved away between every layer. The process continues until the image is complete, leaving a fixed edition that cannot be reproduced again.
Each impression is individually inked and printed by hand, so subtle variations in colour and texture are a natural part of the work.
Printed on professional printmaking paper using oil-based inks
Signed, titled and numbered by hand on the front
Sold unframed

relief ink on printmaking paper using etching press
