Where do dreams lead us, where do you want to end up, what do you long for? In the morning, when the world is still cool, the dream is already slipping away — a feeling remains that it was sweet and pleasant, but it's already hard to recall exactly what it was about.

The boundless spaces of our memory, where our childhood is hidden, along with memories of pleasant things and our desires, sometimes make lovely gifts at night — mixes of emotions and fragments of reality. And how reluctant we sometimes are, in the morning, to let go of that state and return to reality.

I myself am quite proud that I have the ability to create distant imitations of dreams in my paintings.

New series "Figure, Scenes"

I learned to become an artist while almost skipping the stage of childhood drawing. Before entering university, I had barely drawn at all — and along with that, I skipped the play, the imagination, the child's sense that you can draw absolutely anything. By the time I graduated, I had learned to paint what I see.

Now, twenty years later, I'm turning back toward that other direction. In this series, I take a female model as my starting point and place her into worlds and circumstances of my own invention.
