Original artwork description
The third work in the Uncertainty series — a series with a mathematical foundation: the Sierpiński carpet. Looking Back.
Form does not disappear in the process of fragmentation, it transforms. Each change is inscribed within the previous structure, each new layer carries the memory of what came before.
Looking Back is about this moment.
Not a standstill. Not hesitation. But a conscious pause — when you turn your gaze back not in order to stay, but to understand where you came from. So that the next step is not accidental, but deliberate.
Two figures in the composition look in different directions — but they are part of the same structure. Between them space. Not a rupture, but a distance that gives perspective. The circles diminish, but do not disappear — just as the past does not weigh on us, it gives us scale.
Looking Back is not a step backward. It is the moment when uncertainty becomes a point of stillness.
