Flames of scarlet, hot pink and black are pulled downward across the canvas in long feathered strokes, and between them sit broad patches of real gold leaf that catch and move the light as you walk past. Golden Rhythm is a vertical abstract painting built on repetition and pulse: every shape leans the same way, every edge is dragged and frayed like the weave of an ikat fabric, and the gold breaks the pattern just often enough to keep the eye travelling from top to bottom.

The painting belongs to my Space and Mood series, a group of abstract works where colour, texture and rhythm carry the whole meaning, without a subject to hold on to. This one is about energy and glamour. Red and pink give it warmth, black gives it depth and weight, and the gold turns it into something closer to jewellery than to a simple colour study. In daylight the leaf reads as soft ochre, in evening light it glows.

The canvas measures 60 x 80 cm (about 23.6 x 31.5 inches) in portrait format. It is a strong statement for a living room, a dressing room, a bedroom, a boutique or a bar, and it looks especially rich against white, charcoal or deep green walls, and next to brass, velvet and dark wood.

It is painted in oil on stretched cotton canvas with applied gold leaf. The colour is laid in with a dry brush pulled vertically, so the strokes keep a fine striated texture, and the gold leaf is pressed on top in irregular patches and left slightly crumpled so it catches light from every angle. The painting is signed, varnished to protect both paint and leaf, and the edges are painted, so it is ready to hang with no frame needed.

It ships stretched on its wooden bars in a sturdy protective box, never rolled, by tracked and insured courier from Lisbon, Portugal, usually within 3 to 5 working days. Keep it out of direct sunlight and dust gently with a soft dry cloth, never with water.
