Original artwork description:

GICLÉE PRINTS ARE AVAILABLE: Actual size image on PermaJet FB Gold Silk 315 A3-size paper using Epson UltraChrome HD inks.

Part of a collection of work celebrating the colours, textures and shapes of the London Underground. This piece depicts the westbound Piccadilly line platform at Gloucester Road station. There's no train in sight, and due to the low viewpoint the tracks are hidden from view. Nevertheless, the shapes, signs and symbols make this unmistakable as a London Tube scene.

By careful selection of perspectives and viewpoints (and by removing almost all of the people), Rebecca is able to take ordinary scenes and reveal their underlying beauty and style, which can so often go unnoticed.

Materials used:

Oil on linen board
