Genesis (2024) Original Acrylic Painting by Elisa Bertesago

150 x 100 x 2cm (unframed) / 150 x 100cm (actual image size)

£1,273.2

Genesis marks the beginning of my artistic journey: it is the first painting I ever created and the work from which my exploration of fluid art began.

Deep blues, charcoal, grey and white merge with warm metallic accents, creating an abstract landscape that seems suspended between different scales of the natural world. The flowing forms can evoke mineral formations, stormy waters, forests seen from above or even microscopic structures, leaving the interpretation open to the viewer.

Created through acrylic pouring, the painting reflects the balance between intention and unpredictability that later became central to my artistic practice. Colours are guided across the surface, yet their interaction generates organic patterns and intricate details that cannot be fully controlled or reproduced.

I named it Genesis because it represents both a visual sense of matter taking shape and, on a personal level, the origin of my identity as an artist. For this reason, it remains one of the most meaningful works in my collection.
