Original artwork description
mystery is at the core of this surrealistic painting. It suggests that one can feel out of place and uncertain in seemingly familiar surroundings. Perhaps our control over our environment is partially imagined. This is the 8th in an unexpected series of bird paintings. The birds inhabit spaces that are familiar to us. In each painting, a narrative is suggested. If the viewer is inclined to consider the narrative and perhaps speculate on what follows, then the painting is a success. I have been fascinated by the dance of Sandhill Cranes as have humans for many millennia. Placing the cranes in unusual environments with which we are familiar, and to an extent, re-defining those environments is my current interest
