Fresh African Songs (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Alex Mensah

Fresh African Songs is a vibrant celebration of African musical culture, rhythm, and creative expression. The painting captures a musician immersed in the soulful act of playing the 'goji' a traditional Ghanaian musical instrument , surrounded by other supporting musicians playing skillfully in harmony to create beautiful African songs.
The bold, contemporary brushwork transforms the musicians and instruments into a visual rhythm—almost as though the music is flowing beyond the canvas. The floral like forms and greens at the bottom add a sense of freshness and renewal, echoing the title and suggesting the continuous evolution of African music.
This contemporary African artwork celebrates the connection between music, identity, movement, and cultural expression. It is created for collectors who appreciate expressive African art, modern figurative painting, and artworks that bring the energy of music into an interior space.
