Today the people are drowning in a huge amount of information pouring in on them from different sides - fragmentary, contradictory, incomplete, turning their consciousness into chaos. The fragmentation of the artwork associated strongly with the fragmentation of our perception caused by modern media, our co-existence in virtual spaces and vivid experience of events happening in other parts of the world.
I stick to the subject of water, creating a contrast between a calming, meditative image and the distortion of it through fragmentation of the overall composition.
The project has the intention to show the problem of reality perception due to contemporary media, causing continuous disruptions in our cognition, reaction and memories like a permanent glitch in our brains, which we have to adapt to.

Created on linen canvas, on stretched on 2 cm deep custom made stretcher frame with two separate triangular pieces. Sides painted dark grey. Ready to hang.
Signed on the front and on the back.

oil, linen canvas
