Original artwork description
In this watercolor, I explore one of those fleeting moments when light transforms an ordinary forest into something almost transcendent. Sunbeams break through the canopy and illuminate the woodland floor, creating a dialogue between shadow and radiance, stillness and movement. The vertical rhythm of the tree trunks contrasts with the sweeping bands of light, guiding the eye deep into the scene.
My work is rooted in a biophilic view of art and in the idea that nature offers spaces of resonance in an increasingly overstimulated world. I am particularly interested in those moments when a landscape becomes more than a place and turns into an emotional experience. Through transparent watercolor layers, luminous passages and atmospheric depth, I seek to capture not only what a forest looks like, but what it feels like to stand within it.
Underlying many of my paintings is the concept of solastalgia—the awareness that the natural environments we love are increasingly fragile. The beauty in these works is therefore not merely decorative; it is an invitation to reconnect with the living world and to recognize its value.
This original watercolor will appeal to collectors of contemporary landscape art, atmospheric forest paintings, biophilic art and expressive watercolor techniques.
