Forced by a button (2024) Original Mixed-media Sculpture by Emanuela Camacci

A giant stone button sewn onto a felt fabric. The button fixes new shapes and geometries to the felt, bends it, presses it, conditions it, forcing it into folds.

The ivory-coloured button is sewn to the fabric with copper wire.
The fabric maintains the folds and reveals its two sides, one dark grey and one lighter.
The button, a familiar, common object that gives a feeling of domestic intimacy.

A sculpture that can be placed horizontally or fixed to the wall. The felt on the right side is free in the folding, and can be rolled up or left straight as desired.

The dimesnion of the button is cm 20x20x5
