Flow State I is a layered mixed-media photomontage exploring collective movement, conformity and the loss of individual thought within urban systems. A blurred crowd travels along parallel escalators, becoming anonymous traces within a fractured visual field of scratches, colour, data and technical notation. The handwritten phrase “stand in line to follow the crowd” and the repeated statement “the rhythm replaces the thought” suggest a state in which habitual movement begins to replace conscious decision-making.
