Original large painting of semi-abstract portraiture created in yellow colours on deep edge canvas depicting a person playing a wind musical instrument.
The artist creates deeply introspective works through a distinctive process of layering paint, building rich textured surfaces that preserve the movement, energy, and emotion of each brushstroke. Every original painting develops gradually through numerous layers, allowing the texture and character of the surface to emerge naturally. Because of this process, no two artworks can ever be replicated — each piece carries its own unique history of creation.
Working with simplified forms and expressive textures, the artist focuses on the emotional essence of the human experience rather than realistic representation. Figures, gestures, and moments of quiet reflection become a way to explore themes of identity, memory, music, and inner expression.
The artist believes that the hands and face are the most important parts of a musician when they play — the hands reveal the connection with the instrument, while the face reflects the emotion and concentration behind the music. Other elements are intentionally reduced, allowing the viewer to focus on the intimate relationship between the performer and their expression.
Through a combination of traditional painting techniques and a contemporary visual language, the artist creates original artworks that invite contemplation and reward close viewing, with surfaces full of depth, movement, and subtle detail.
