Fleetinge Beauty (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Maria Dilmann

With Fleeting Beauty, I wanted to capture the delicate feeling of something beautiful that cannot be held onto forever. The flowers seem to emerge from the layers of the painting and, at the same time, slowly dissolve back into them.

Soft pinks and whites meet deeper, cooler tones, while small touches of orange and vibrant colour bring moments of warmth and energy. I worked intuitively with layers, texture, expressive marks and partially obscured forms, allowing the painting to develop naturally rather than controlling every detail.

For me, this work is about the beauty of impermanence — those brief moments, feelings and encounters that become precious precisely because they do not last.

Fleeting Beauty is an invitation to notice what is here now, before it changes.
