Flame on Earth (1999) Lithograph by Dean Anthony Brink

35.56 x 55.88cm (unframed)

£605.34

This is one of three very limited-edition lithographs from 1999, after my mother and local artist, Antje Kaiser, had passed away. I used her name then, signing them D. Kaiser.

Note: there is foxing on the edges in some of the prints. This one is 4/5. I will try to make prints of each of the prints available too (just due to the age of the originals).

A note on the influence of Rauschenberg: I had been influenced by him and made these using his transfer techniques on lithograph stones and aluminum sheets (though I can't remember which derives from which).

The themes reflect my turbulent life then, losing my mother, estranged from my father, recently divorced, and torn between two men in my life. I have always been a promoter of peace, so these themes appear too.
