“FIERY TRACE” is an acrylic and dye painting on unprimed canvas. It is 102x77cms in size, unframed and stretched over a wooden frame with steel corner braces. It is part of a series of works which focus on ‘garden’ environments. The July sun, light and shadow are captured in fleeting moments and sensations. An enormous lavatera in full bloom overhangs the dense border of a garden. Intense orange, and red nasturtiums climb trellis and wall. This is still a non- literal representation. It is a complex spatial invention that seeks to explore emotional significance and connection between that which can be seen and that which is memory. It is a ‘trace’ , a ‘moment in time’.
