Lasting ten years — the same legendary duration attributed to the Trojan War — this cycle explores the timeless themes of myth, love, conflict, heroism, and human destiny.

Through his paintings, Di Pietro revisits the epic world of ancient Greece, transforming the figures and events of the Iliad into contemporary visions charged with emotional and symbolic meaning. Among the recurring subjects are the legendary heroes of the Trojan War and the tragic love between Helen of Troy and Paris, son of Priam.

A distinctive feature of this period is the artist’s spatula-scratch technique, a unique expressive language that gives the surface of the paintings a powerful material quality.
