'Elements 1' is the first abstract in a series of exploratory works, where thick layers of paint are formed onto the canvas to create a swirled landscape. This expressive use of colour and paint developed from a need to find a unique technique combined with an intuitive use of the materials. The result is a very textural work where the viewer can let their own imagination form images within the abstract landscape, images that will alter with the lighting.
