Eiffel Glow (2026) Original Oil Painting by Paul Cheng

I wanted to capture a romantic yet lively moment on the streets of Paris at night. The Eiffel Tower, glowing in golden light in the distance, becomes the visual focus, while the warm corner restaurant and shadowed street create layers of urban atmosphere. Rather than describing every architectural detail, I used light, color, and spontaneous brushwork to express the captivating feeling of wandering through Paris after dark.

I built the night scene with deep blues, blacks, and earthy browns, then introduced golden yellows, warm reds, and luminous blue-white accents to suggest the tower, café lights, and reflections along the street. Loose, energetic brushwork allows architecture and figures to move between representation and expression, while strong contrasts of warm and cool light lead the eye toward the illuminated Eiffel Tower.
