Egg Flower (2026) Original Clay Sculpture by Ta Byrne

My hero, Vincent Van Gogh, painted his sunflowers in Arles, in the South of France, in 1889. I first painted my Egg Flowers in Samui, in southern Thailand, in 2019; now, in 2026, this is my first sculpture of my Egg Flowers.

Please review my work and consider the meanings behind it. I understand people will have different feelings and therefore different understandings. It’s not like looking at a movie where the meaning is spelt out for you; you have to look carefully for it.

I want to work on more sculptures of characters from my paintings. I want them to look as if they have just stepped out of a painting, so if you have one of my paintings and you have a favourite character from that painting, I can make you a beautiful sculpture that looks as if it’s just stepped out of your painting.
