Ebb Light captures the quiet space left behind as the tide recedes. The sea appears as a narrow line on the horizon, while shallow water spreads across the wet sand, reflecting the changing colours of the sky.
Cool blue and grey tones dominate the surface, softened by warm touches of pale gold and pink. The broad horizontal layers of water, sand and sky create a feeling of openness, while subtle changes in the surface bring movement to the calm composition.
The painting focuses on the shifting boundary between sea and land — a moment when the landscape seems suspended between water and shore. Simple forms, colour and light are at the heart of the work, bringing the painting close to abstraction.
The painting is part of the ongoing Littoral series, exploring the relationship between sea, land, light and open space.
Oil on linen canvas, 40 × 60 cm. The canvas is stretched on a wooden stretcher and is ready to hang. The edges are painted, allowing the work to be displayed without a frame. Signed on the back and shipped with a certificate of authenticity.
