While creating this painting, I wanted to capture the dramatic instant when a cowboy and a bucking horse are locked in a powerful test of courage, strength, and trust. I intentionally simplified the background with broad transitions of warm and cool colors, allowing the viewer’s attention to remain entirely on the explosive movement of the rider and horse. Through energetic brushwork, expressive textures, and layered paint, I emphasized motion, flying dust, and the raw energy of the moment, creating a painting that celebrates the freedom, resilience, and enduring spirit of the American West.
