"Drumbeat" - mixed media on masonite, 16" x 12". Ready to frame.

This piece emerged from an incredible day spent building a Native American hand drum out of poplar, elk hide and sinew. After the building, we joined a drumming circle to learn proper drum technique. There is something about the honor beat (an alternating loud beat) during a group drumming session that thrums through my bones. This piece represents that strong beat.
