Dream (2025) Original Oil Painting by Polina Doroshenko

I created this work after a journey to the mountains, in the Pyrenees. For me, it is about dreams, about aspirations, and about what stays with us as a memory. We can also see these naïve, childlike sketches here, and they speak to that genuine feeling that remains with us from childhood, when it was impossible to be insincere. This work is about sincere feelings, authentic emotions, and about something we often lack today: time alone with nature, in touch with what is real and true.

I paint on canvas, combining oil paints with oil sticks, and I also work with pencil and oil pastel. This combination allows me to create delicate colors and subtle gradients while also adding graphic elements to the composition.

For me, this work feels very sensitive and delicate, yet at the same time it carries a sense of strength. I believe the viewer can feel this sincerity, while also interpreting the piece through the lens of their own personal experience.
