The painting is a portrait of a clown who has just taken off his mask, revealing that it is actually a sad woman.
The painting is made with the millennial technique of the fresco which consists in painting with pigments dissolved in water over the fresh plaster made with sand and lime. The lime drying produces lime carbonate crystals that block the pigment molecules forever.
The painting is made on a mobile support on which the mortar was laid out which was then painted.
