Double 8mm (2026) Photograph by Brad Kayal

76.2 x 76.2cm

£741.92

Part of my "Analog" photographic series—a collection of still-life images featuring vintage cameras, film projectors, parking meters, and other relics of the analog age.

Photographed against deep, nearly black backgrounds, each object is isolated from its original surroundings, allowing its form, texture, and intricate details to take center stage. Decades of wear, scratches, faded lettering, and weathered metal reveal the history behind these once-ordinary objects.

There's an understated elegance to these machines. Their switches, dials, levers, and mechanical components, once designed for a specific purpose, now function solely as sculpture. A celebration of industrial design and a quiet reflection on the passage of time.

"Double 8mm" is a 27" × 27" giclée print on 30" × 30" semi-matte archival photographic paper.
