One painting that has greatly inspired me is Michelangelo's masterpiece "The Creation of Adam" on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. To me the most compelling aspect of the painting is the creative hand of God reaching across space to the hand of Adam and bringing the spark of life to the human race.
