This piece was inspired by a very large (2 ft tall) vase I've had in my living room for decades, that holds a few branches of eucalyptus. I was interested in conveying the interplay of different dimensions of space: namely, realistic and abstract, but also the space of a painting and the way it exists within the space it hangs in.
