DEREVII (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Yuliia Naumenko

There are plants we pass every day without really noticing them.

Yarrow — derevii — is one of them. A common wild plant that our ancestors knew well and used for generations.

So much knowledge about plants and nature was passed down through everyday life. And now, when we can find almost any information in seconds, some of this old knowledge is slowly being forgotten.

With this painting, I wanted to stop and really look at one of these ordinary plants.

To notice its beauty, and remember the connection between nature, memory and the knowledge passed down to us.
