Dandelions and Tomatoes (2025) Original Pastel Drawing by Marina Borisova

A warm, intimate still life where the garden’s harvest meets the lightness of dandelion fluff. Ribbed red heirloom tomatoes spill from a deep clay bowl and rest along a wooden tabletop, their glossy, segmented skins glowing against the soft beige-peach background. At the center, a rustic brown jug holds a bouquet of delicate dandelion seed heads, each one a airy, silvery puff on a slender stem. A few loose seeds drift across the wall as if carried by a passing breeze. Pink-violet garlic bulbs, sprigs of fresh mint, and a small pot of basil with deep green leaves complete the scene. The soft, velvety brushwork and earthy palette of terracotta, crimson, and green create a calm, cozy, farmhouse mood.
